Name: Punch Needle Embroidery - Adult Community Education
    Date: February 15, 2018
    Time: 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM MST
    Event Description:
Punch needle is a form of embroidery that uses a hollow needle to create loops on the surface of the fabric. It creates a textured pile surface akin to a miniature version of a hooked rug. It is also known as thread painting and Russian embroidery. You can use embroidery floss, Perle cotton, along with Yarn of various weights. The size of the punch needle will determine the size of the yarns and threads.
For the tool/materials, there will be a $5.00 charge. I will also provide a pattern, directions, and threads. If you want certain colors, please feel free to bring those. Also, you will need to bring an embroidery hoop to fit a 10-inch piece of fabric.
Taught by Connie Simonich who will show you some antique punch needles and you are welcome to play with those with various sizes of threads and Yarn.
